Your new fairy wings have arrived – but how do you unpack them correctly? Are you allowed to bend the wings? And what should you do if they get dirty or an air bubble forms?
To ensure you enjoy your new fairy wings for as long as possible, you will find the most important information here on unpacking, adjusting, wearing, cleaning, and storing your wings.
Handmade fairy wings are unique pieces
Every pair of SirenPearls fairy wings is handcrafted. As a result, no two pairs look exactly identical, and minor irregularities can be part of the manufacturing process.
The processing of the plastic creates electrostatic charges, among other things. Despite careful work, it is therefore impossible to completely prevent individual tiny dust particles from being trapped. Small wrinkles or air bubbles can also occasionally occur.
Such small irregularities are generally limited to very small areas and are not noticeable when wearing the wings. I inspect every pair before shipping to ensure the result meets my quality standards.
If you are nevertheless not satisfied with your wings, please be sure to contact me! The construction of the wings is modular, and every part can be replaced as I intentionally avoid the use of glue. For regularly purchased items, your statutory rights and, where applicable, your right of withdrawal remain unaffected, of course. Regardless of this, the statutory warranty rights naturally apply to your purchase, including the statutory warranty period of at least two years within the EU.
Unpacking your fairy wings correctly
In order to ensure that even large fairy wings can be shipped compactly and cost-effectively, they are carefully folded and partially bent for shipping. It is therefore quite normal if they do not initially have their final shape when inside the package.
Carefully take the wings out of the packaging and unfold them. A thread is integrated into the mount, which you can simply turn outwards.
Afterward, you can carefully adjust the lower wings downwards. For this, always grip as close to the mount or the inner end of the wire as possible.
Avoid bending or twisting the wings excessively and unnecessarily often. While the material is flexible, repeated heavy over-bending can lead to material fatigue over time.

Am I allowed to bend my fairy wings?
The wings themselves are flexible – nevertheless, you should not intentionally crease or heavily bend the wing surfaces. This includes, for example, making a pair of regular wings hang down and then bending them back.
This is particularly important for wings where multiple layers of material are bonded together. Heavy bending can cause air bubbles to form between these layers or cause existing small air bubbles to grow larger.
A wire is located inside the bias tape to help with adjusting the wings. You can carefully shape this to adapt the position of your wings.
The rule here is: Always bend as close to the connection to the mount as possible and do not pull or twist the middle of the wing.
Occasional careful readjustment is not a problem. However, you should avoid bending the same spot back and forth frequently, as this can weaken the wire over time and, in the worst case, cause it to break. While it can be replaced, it is of course always better to avoid that.
What to do if there is an air bubble?
If a larger air bubble does form between the material layers due to heavy bending or other stress, it can often be reduced again.
Heat the affected area carefully and evenly with a hair dryer or heat gun. Keep the heat source moving constantly and never stay on the same spot for a long period of time.
Afterward, you can carefully smooth out the heated area. Wear suitable gloves while doing so, as the material can become hot.
Important: Excessive or concentrated heat can permanently damage the surface. Therefore, it is better to work slowly and with as little heat as possible.
Avoid heat
For the same reason, you should not expose your fairy wings to high heat for long periods.
A closed car in the sun, in particular, can get extremely hot. Therefore, do not leave your wings in the vehicle for long periods on warm days so that they do not deform.
Radiators and other direct heat sources are also not suitable for storage.
How do I clean my fairy wings?
Cleaning is uncomplicated. You can simply wipe off light dirt carefully with a soft, damp cloth.
Avoid heavy scrubbing as well as aggressive cleaning agents so that the surface of the wings is not damaged.
After cleaning, it is best to let the wings dry completely in the air before you pack or store them again.
How to store your fairy wings
When you are not currently wearing your wings, you should store them in such a way that they are not permanently creased or pinched under heavy objects.
For transport, they may, of course, be folded up carefully again. However, the less often they are bent unnecessarily heavily, the less the material is stressed in the long run.
Especially if you regularly take your wings to conventions, photo shoots, or fantasy events, careful transport is worth it.
A wonderful and decorative option is also to store them on the wall. Fairy wings are not just wearable accessories, but also a small piece of art - so why not simply display them on the wall and conjure a little magic into your everyday life?
And most importantly: Have fun with your wings!
SirenPearls fairy wings are made to be worn. You do not need to be afraid of touching them, adjusting them, or taking them to your next photo shoot or event.
With a bit of care when bending, transporting, and storing them, you can enjoy them for a long time.
And if something ever happens or you are unsure about their care: Just write to me. I am happy to help!
